The Shabaab al-Mujahideen Movement, al-Qaeda's (AQ) branch in Somalia, claimed that its fighters seized control over a town in Bakool following an attack on Somali National Army (SNA) barracks, and inflicted losses among Ugandan forces in the AMISOM mission when fighters stormed two military bases in Lower Shabelle.
