AQAP Claims Suicide Bombing in Abyan, Attacks on Houthis in al-Bayda and Lahij

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) claimed three attacks on Houthis in Abyan, al-Bayda’, and Lahij governorates of Yemen, including a suicide bombing.

 The claims came in three reports posted on Twitter on April 19, 2015. The group’s “Ansar al-Shariah News” reported that dozens of Houthis were killed in a suicide bombing at the Wadhi’ intersection in Abyan, 6 Houthis were killed in an attack on a location where they gathered in Lahij, and one Houthi was sniped in the city of Dhi Na’im in al-Bayda’.

AQAP Claims Killing Yemeni Police Officer in Lahij

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) claimed killing a Yemeni officer in al-Hawtah, the capital of Lahij governorate. In a report posted on Twitter on February 24, 2015, the group reported that a fighter fired from his silenced pistol at the head of the officer, Colonel Seif Hassan Zeid Mana'a, killing him on the spot.
