In continuing to destroy ancient monuments and structures, Homs Province of the Islamic State (IS) has blown up what it called the “pagan” Temple of Baalshamin in Tadmur (Palmyra), and published photos of the act. A report consisting of five photos of the destruction was distributed on Twitter on August 25, 2015, and shows fighters bringing an explosive barrel into the temple, similar barrels and explosive charges placed throughout, and then the blast.
